Save the Date

For a small village with less than 650 residents, there’s so much going on.  Coffee mornings of course, but also Yoga, Pilates, and meditation classes, Cinema Club, Disparate Housewives, Quiz Night,  Friday Fish Night and more.  See the Calendar for our regular activities and events. The Village also holds an annual Fete and Scarecrow Competition as well as the annual calendar competition.

Both the Lawson Hut and St Mary’s Community Centre are available to hire for private events.

Christmas Lights procession

Come and join St Mary’s Church, the Village School and the Lawson Hut  as we turn on the Christmas lights in Badsworth.

The Christmas committee is working hard to get Santa and his Elves booked in along with some live music and a party atmosphere at the Lawson Hut.
The Parish Council has organised the delivery of a fully dressed tree and the Church and school will be presiding over the procession and lights.

It’s going to be amazing.  Look out for more info as we get timings and Santa’s permission to go ahead.

Wellbeing Hub

Every Wednesday morning 10am- 12pm at the Lawson Hut. Run by Vicky and Dianne, the wellbeing hub is open to all Badsworth residents.  Enjoy a cup of tea and a freshly baked cake while playing dominoes or just catching up on the local gossip.  Dianne offers free therapies – hand  or foot massage or Reiki.

Coffee Mornings

Regular coffee mornings take place every last Saturday of the month from 10am – 12pm at St Mary’s Community Centre 10am – 12pm. There is an entrance fee of £2 which includes tea or coffee and biscuits. A few extra pennies will bag you some yummy home made cakes and there is also a white elephant stall and raffle.

All proceeds go to the Church and everyone is always welcome.  It’s a great opportunity to meet other Badsworth residents and even people from further away. We’re a friendly bunch and happy to meet friends old and new.

Badsworth Cinema

Come and see a classic film without the long drive to an expensive multiplex. Every last Friday of the month during autumn and winter , the Lawson Hut hosts a screening of some of the best films of all time.

There is no admission fee, but donations are welcome to pay for room rent, the performing rights licence, DVD purchases and the free popcorn! Ice creams are sold in the half hour interval and you are welcome to bring your own drink (glasses are available).

Please email [email protected] if you wish to learn more, be added to the bookings list or have a film to suggest. Please note numbers need to be limited to about 40 for comfort.

Calendar Competition

Thank you to everyone who bought our latest calendar. The Village Committee sold 90 copies which raised approximately £300 towards the funding of future village projects and activities.

We intend to produce a calendar for 2025, so we are asking residents to start sending in photos to be judged for inclusion. Ideally, we would like the photos to start in January and go month by month, ensuring the calendar reflects our ever changing landscape and snapshots of village life. All photos submitted should be landscape in format with a minimum file size of 2mb.

Please get snapping and send your photos to the editor of Our Badsworth Way, [email protected].
